What is EMRG?
The Emergency Medical Response Group (EMRG) at the University of Toronto at Scarborough is a non-profit volunteer organization involving a collaborative team of UTSC students. EMRG is a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week campus emergency response team that provides first aid and emergency assistance to the students, staff, faculty and visitors on the UTSC campus. EMRG offers services at the Emergency First Response level. We run with oxygen, airway supplies, trauma supplies and spinal immobilization equipment. We initiate care until the ambulance arrives.

When Should I Call?
Call us anytime you feel you need us!

How to Contact EMRG?
In an emergency, call 911, then, call UTSC Police at 416-287-7333, or you can call from any emergency phone on campus. The UTSC Police will dispatch EMRG via radio. If you do not think you need an ambulance, but need medical assistance, call 416-287-7333 and ask for EMRG. We can help you plan the best care.

How Can I Be an EMRG Member?
EMRG recruits new members every September so apply early and on time. All interested candidates must be certified in Standard First Aid and CPR-C. Please keep in mind that EMRG is a volunteer organization so all shifts are unpaid and will serve as volunteer hours. If you are passionate about preserving human life and are willing to make specific time commitments, then you are encouraged to apply for the team. If interested in applying, read the candidate requirements on the EMRG Candidate Application Form located on our pamphlet or online and then fill out your information. Forms will be available when we start recruiting.
